About This Special Issue
While there is so much emphasis on STEM education and its benefits for our students, there is not as much information on STEAM education. STEAM education allows educators to foster their students’ creative and critical thinking, as well as problem-solving skills. STEAM also allows for the successful merging of art and science. The aim of this special issue is to explore current and recent trends and developments in STEAM education, as well as benefits of STEAM teaching and learning. It is also expected to compare STEAM with STEM education by critiquing each type’s advantages and disadvantages. The issue will focus on middle-school and high school students.
The submissions of studies should illustrate how to design and implement STEAM lessons in our classrooms. The manuscripts should highlight why STEAM learning is effective and beneficial for our students. Furthermore, the manuscripts should explore the evidence-based strategies and methods that can help in converting STEM programs into STEAM. Last, but not least, the manuscript should include utilized strategies for narrowing the STEAM gender gap.
We welcome submission reviews, book chapters, real-world case studies, and high-quality original research papers.
